YOU ARE NOT ALONE
Camaraderie, Connection, and Care.
That's where we begin.
We are here until you are on solid ground.
ABOUT US
Veteran AdvoCare is a grassroots, compassion-driven initiative dedicated to supporting veteran well-being before challenges become crises.
Our upstream approach means we start with listening—taking the time to understand each veteran's unique story and situation. From there, we work to connect them with opportunities, resources, and fellow veterans to foster a strong sense of community, well-being, and quality of life.
There’s no need for registration, memberships, or appointments—just reach out. Our dedicated volunteers are here to make meaningful connections, bridging the gap to opportunities and people who understand the unique experiences of those who have served.
What’s Brewing is one of our key initiatives, focused on supporting veterans in Western PA. Many veterans face isolation after leaving the military, and our mission is to bridge this gap by creating welcoming, community-based gatherings that foster connection, understanding, and support.
We stand with you until you’re on solid ground and moving forward. In return, we ask only that you pay it forward—stay involved and be there for others on this journey.

"What do veterans in Allegheny County need
that isn't being provided?"
Through 65+ conversations with veteran organizations and veterans, from December 2022 - April 2023,
Four Themes emerged:
-
To be heard and feel connected
-
Unencumbered information and access to veteran resources and opportunities that already exist locally and nationally, (without the delay or debris of dead-ends and red tape.)
-
Support and connectedness for spouses and families of veterans.
-
Increase awareness in the community, i.e. churches, businesses, and service industry, about veterans, silent struggles, invisible wounds, and how to show value and appreciation.
What's Brewing
Where Veterans Connect
What’s Brewing creates a casual, inclusive space where veterans can gather over coffee to share conversation, camaraderie, and support.
Our mission is to connect veterans with each other, community organizations, and valuable resources while raising awareness and fostering understanding within local communities.
Together with partner businesses and sponsors, we host gatherings that build connections, strengthen support networks, and empower veterans to thrive. Canine visitors and resource representatives are available to provide added comfort and guidance.
Join us to connect, share, and grow—because every veteran deserves a strong, welcoming community.

Salute to Service & Buddy Checks
Let’s rethink Veterans Day—why honor veterans only once a year when we can celebrate and support them year-round?
What if every month on the 11th, we dedicated time to recognizing veterans, raising awareness of their challenges, and encouraging them to connect with their buddies?
Our Mission
In partnership with local businesses, Salute to Service aims to honor veterans where they live, work, and gather. Together, we’ll create monthly events that foster connection, provide resources, and celebrate those who’ve served.
How It Works
What’s Brewing’s Role:
Identify and collaborate with community partners to host veteran-focused events.
Publicize events through social media and veteran networks.
Connect sponsors to hosts and offset event costs when possible.
Provide veteran resources and support, including Service Dog visits upon request.
Partner Businesses and Venues:
Host a veteran-focused event on the 11th of any month.
Offer discounts or giveaways for veterans and their families.
Advertise the event.
Let’s create a movement of connection and recognition—because veterans deserve our respect and support every day of the year.
It Starts With Conversation
If you would like to host, sponsor, or support an event
where veterans feel welcome, heard, and honored, let us assist.
